yeah I know, it's not really in Utah, but on the edge. It has hundreds of miles of mostly mountainous jeep trails but the views from up there are spectacular. Great family ride, the areas are OHV friendly, and after a day of trail riding, many of the motels have hot mineral spring fed pools to soak up those tired muscles.

Lots of places to stay in Ouray. Most of the original town buildings from the late 1800's are still in use and being used. Lots of neat OHV shops to explore as well. From town, you can ride to the trail head (8k feet) and then it up, really up from there. The passes from one side of the mountains to the other can go up to 13k feet up, so adjust for altitude as needed. Lots of old ghost mining towns are up there, fun to explore. You will end up sharing the narrow gauge trails with jeeps. They follow the old ore cart paths used by miners to get supplies up and their ore down. Some trails are rated for expert only but most itermediate level riders can handle the majority of trails. Last note: BRING A CAMERA...

Ouray Colorado

Intermediate level or better riders would have not problems with the trails. Mostly jeep, no single track. The best part of this ride is the scenery, breath taking views and exploring old ghost mining camps. Riders go from one mountain range to the next, with specatular vistas around each bend. The passes to one range to another can be very high up...starting from 8000 feet to up to 13000. Lots of neat old mining sites, lots of the buildings are still intact.
